Simon Davies is battling to be fit for Saturdays FA Cupthird round clash with Millwall.The Wales international missed the victory over Charlton atGoodison on Monday after aggravating an ankle injury in the 1-0 winat Sunderland on New Years Eve.But the injury is not deemed to be serious and head physio MickRathbone has confirmed Davies has a chance of being passed fit forthe trip to the New Den on Saturday.He told : Simon went over on his ankleagainst Liverpool and then did really well to get back. I was outwith him at 7 oclock in the morning on the snow at Sunderlandfor Fifa 16 Coins a fitness test and he did okay.
He was willing to get out there for the cause butunfortunately he got a tackle from behind in that game that hit hisankle and ruled him out of the game with Charlton. I am hoping he will do a bit of training over the nextcouple of days and I dont think he will be too far away forthe game. The Dutch winger has been missing since earlyDecember with a thigh injury and is still some way from a return tofitness.
